Vietti Ramus and Antonelli seeking redemption in Sepang
The words of Celestino Vietti Ramus and Niccolò Antonelli
Leaving behind the bitter ending of the GP in Australia, Celestino Vietti Ramus and Niccolò Antonelli arrive in Malaysia for the last of the races outside Europe this 2022. Redemption is the key for both riding the Kalex of the Mooney VR46 Racing Team.
In the wake of the fastest riders in qualifying at Phillip Island, Celestino is working to get back to fighting in the front group. Currently fourth in the overall standings with 165 points, he wants to close the best by having his say for the positions that count on a track that sees him rookie in Moto2. Niccolò is also on track after Sunday’s bad crash, fortunately without consequences, and after a weekend more complicated than expected. The first rainbow points are the goal for his season finale.
“The Sepang track has always been one of my favorites on the calendar,” said Celestino Vietti Ramus. “I really enjoy riding here, although the heat will be one more factor to manage as best I can. The goals for the weekend are clear: to recover speed, feeling and the concreteness that we have lacked in the last GPs to do a good job with the whole team.”
“I really like the Sepang track, it is complete in all respects and is very beautiful. Compared to Australia, we will find totally different conditions with a lot of heat. On the one hand, I’m happy because I’m better, but on the other hand, I know it’s one more factor to consider. I want to have fun, with Moto3 here I have always been comfortable, fighting in the group, getting closer to the points and enjoying the race and the weekend.” He was echoed by Niccolò Antonelli.
