MotoGP, in Sepang something still worries Enea Bastianini
The chronometric match is there, the confidence not quite.
Enea Bastianini ends Friday’s Sepang free practice with the fourth best time (a 1:59.875 recorded in the morning, when weather conditions were more clement). Nevertheless, the Team Gresini bearer admitted that he hoped for further growth in the continuation of the Malaysian Grand Prix weekend.
“Good for the position, but I’m half happy,” Bastianini admitted at the end of the day, “I still can’t find the level of confidence in the bike that I had in testing. There was less grip on the track, then in the second free practice the rain also came. The conditions were not optimal, and the weather certainly did not help.”
Bastianini, then, has a wish ahead of Saturday’s Sepang: “FP3 will serve to put us even more in place. I hope there is dry weather, so we will need a good qualifying. Today we chose the soft tire and did well, but tomorrow we need to grow more. I’m aiming to have a good race, third place in the overall MotoGP standings, I’m not thinking about that.”
