Serie B: Pisa wins and leaves the relegation zone, Palermo in trouble
One big definitely reborn, the other increasingly in trouble.
Pisa continues its excellent period of form and continues to climb the standings: the 4-2 home win over Modena, which came in a comeback, allows the Tuscans to move out of the Serie B relegation zone. Instead, Palermo plummets there, forced to a 0-0 draw by Cittadella at the Barbera and now third-last.
For Pisa, which has been grinding out points for weeks now after a nightmarish start to the season, Sunday’s Serie A seems to be getting off on the wrong foot this time. At the Arena Garibaldi-Romeo Anconetani it was in fact Bonfanti who unlocked the score in the 19th minute, with Modena remaining ahead for most of the first half. In full recovery, however, there is the transformation of a penalty that Gliozzi does not miss and that is worth the draw. It will be another penalty, this time entrusted to Torregrossa, that will fix the final result also in the recovery of the second half, completing the double of the former Brescia center forward who scored already in the 74th minute. In between were goals by Masucci for Pisa (82′) and Magnino, who in the 84′ seemed to be able to reopen the game for Modena.
