F1, Christian Horner crowns Max Verstappen
Christian Horner Speaks
Christian Horner spoke to the microphones of Sky Sports Uk after yet another Max Verstappen triumph in the U.S. Grand Prix, which also coincided with Red Bull’s victory in the Constructors’ Championship.
“It was an extremely exciting weekend. This was the best possible way to win the race,” Horner began. “Max had to fight and come back after a difficult pit stop where we had a problem with the left front wheel gun. Max rolled up his sleeves and still won: I think there is a hunger in him that I have never seen in any driver, there is an incredible determination. He’s growing, he’s maturing and he’s reading the races in a fantastic way. After the pit stop he was obviously very angry, but he immediately controlled his emotions, not giving himself away and imposing a pace so that he didn’t burn the tires and at the same time made a comeback.”
I thought the race would only have one outcome, and to win the Constructors’ World Championship after eight long years is incredible,” continued the team principal of the Austrian team. “I think Dietrich would have been very proud, and that means everything to us. It has been such a long journey; Dietrich was a very private man, but passionate about life, sports, and especially Formula 1. He had a dream, to have a Formula 1 team. He realized it and gave us all an opportunity. He believed in us, supported us, and this success is for him. We are enormously grateful for everything he did for us, as individuals and as a team, and we will celebrate in his honor.”
