F1, Sebastian Vettel has a new target
Vettel wants to overtake Alfa Romeo
Sebastian Vettel wants to continue his excellent form in the Mexican Grand Prix, scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 30, at 9 p.m.
The German driver, named Driver of the Day in Austin, is aiming to confirm himself in Mexico City in light of a new goal that is increasingly within reach: overtaking Alfa Romeo in the Constructors’ Championship by reaching sixth place in the standings.
The four-time world champion had this to say ahead of the next round: “The atmosphere in Mexico City has always been electrifying and I’ve always enjoyed coming here, in the last few races we’ve achieved some really important results, so our challenge for sixth in the Constructors’ Championship looks increasingly realistic.
“Looking ahead to my last three races in Formula One, I haven’t lost motivation, and I want to go out on a high note. With the form we have shown recently, I think we should be able to do that,” Vettel concluded.
It was Sebastian Vettel who was the first driver to win a world championship with Red Bull. The German put everyone in line for four years in a row, from 2010 to 2013. The Austrian stable returned to success in 2021 thanks to Dutchman Max Verstappen, with the son of art repeating the following year. If there was a battle to the last in 2021, that was not the case in 2022.
