Giulini reflects on Liverani, fans have already chosen replacement
After dismissing Stefano Capozucca and Mario Passetti, Tommaso Giulini is also making evaluations on Fabio Liverani. The coach at the moment does not seem to be at risk, but a misstep against Sudtirol (match scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 5 at 2 p.m.) could be a game-changer.
On social media, fans of the islanders have already made their judgment: a change on the bench is needed, and the ideal replacement would be Claudio Ranieri, who is very attached to Sardinia and has left a beautiful memory: “President, please give Mr. Ranieri a call,” asks Gianfranco. “Semplici, Ballardini, Rastelli, Donadoni but above all Ranieri: these are coaches who would take our Cagliari to Serie A,” Andrea’s verdict.
It has remained in the history of Italian soccer the Scudetto won by Cagliari at the end of the 1969-70 season. Manlio Scopigno was on the bench while the team’s star was Gigi Riva: the bomber scored 21 goals, boasting the title of top scorer for the third time in just four years. Riva ended his very long experience on the island in 1977, having scored something like 164 goals.
