Virtus Bologna: Nico Mannion feels useful only in the league

Against Real Madrid not a single minute on the field

Strange start to the season for Nico Mannion. In the summer he decided to stay at Virtus Bologna. To date, the Italian point guard seems to be convincing only in the Italian league. In five Serie A games, the former Golden State has scored an average of 11.4 points per game in over 21′ of usage.

It’s a different story when it comes to the Euroleague. Sitting out the entire duration of the (won) match with Real Madrid, Nico Mannion scored the pittance of four points in four Euroleague contests, playing only 18.5′ total. The feeling is that coach Scariolo, for the time being, does not yet consider him ready for a delicate tournament like the Euroleague.

A situation that, surely, must not be pleasing the young 21-year-old point guard very much, who, this season, is aiming for a quantum leap. Playing, continuously, in the Euroleague is one of his goals.
