A few days before the World Cup kicks off, a new problem for Cristiano Ronaldo, who has recently appeared rather restless: the Portuguese ace did not take the field at the Alvalade in the friendly – the last before leaving for Qatar – won by the Lusitanians 4-0 against Nigeria. What stopped the former Real Madrid and Juventus man was a form of gastroenteritis, as confirmed by coach Fernando Santos.
Against the Africans, who fielded Atalanta’s Lookman but not Naples’ Osimhen, the Iberians’ goals were scored by Bruno Fernandes (a brace, with a penalty), Gonçalo Ramos and Joao Mario.
