Basketball, Dubai wants star team in Euroleague

There is talk of a 40 million euro budget

Dubai wants to participate in the Euroleague but not only as a sponsor. As reported by Mundodeportivo, the intention is to have a team that can participate in Europe’s top basketball competition.

The ECA (Euroleague Commercial Assets) has confirmed initial contacts but specifying that, for the moment, only a “potential collaboration” has been discussed. In fact, according to the Spanish media, Dubai would be in a hurry to set up a super team and a super budget (40 million euros) would already be ready. Last October 11, Bodiroga, president of the Euroleague, was in Dubai where he met with Abdulla Al Naboodah, owner of the Dubai Basketball Club. In short, Dubai is serious: it wants to join the Euroleague.
