Virtus Bologna, the verdict on Milos Teodosic
The Bologna club had appealed Teodosic’s disqualification.
After the Nov. 25 game at PalaDozza between Virtus Bologna and reigning European champions Anadolu Efes, the Bologna team’s point guard Milos Teodosic had been disqualified for two Euroleague rounds after being sent off following repeated and heated complaints against the referees.
Ahead of the game against Red Star, valid for the 11th day of Europe’s top club competition, the bianconeri had filed an appeal hoping to have the Serbian back at least for the match against Olympiakos, scheduled for Dec. 9.
In the morning of Friday, Dec. 2, came the confirmation of the disqualification period for Teodosic, after the Bologna club rejected the appeal. A heavy absence for Sergio Scariolo, who will have to do without one of his most important players, not to mention the repeated unavailability of Toko Shengelia.
