Tour de France, the final stage of 2024 will not be in Paris
Tour de France 2024
Only the Olympics, paradoxically, could take the Tour de France out of Paris.
The 2024 edition will not end in the French capital but in Nice, on the French Riviera. This was made official by race director Christian Prudhomme, in an interview with L’Equipe.
“We are all very happy that the Olympic Games will be held in France and in Paris. It’s great for everyone, French sport and beyond. But it was completely impossible to arrive with the Tour in Paris, the police and gendarmerie forces will already have an overload of work without adding to it. Common sense guided us in making this decision. The Côte d’Azur will provide us with exceptional scenery from a scenic point of view, let us not forget that it is the most popular place in France for foreigners after Paris. Starting from Nice and its metropolis, we will experience a different weekend than usual that will allow us to offer a truly fantastic final fireworks display.”
