Olimpia Milano, Facundo Campazzo dream fades away
Campazzo will not go to Olimpia Milano
Facundo Campazzo will not wear the Olimpia Milano jersey. The Argentine point guard, cut at the end of November from the Dallas Mavericks roster, was being closely followed by major European clubs, including Olimpia Milano, looking for an important reinforcement to try to overcome the difficult moment in the Euroleague.
The former Real Madrid player among others chose to move to Serbia to the Red Star of his compatriot Luca Vildoza, who had already anticipated Campazzo’s arrival by posting a photo with him wearing the Belgrade club’s jersey: “I haven’t made anything official, but I was very happy. It is great that another Argentine is coming. He is aware of how it has been since I arrived here and how I have bonded with the fans. He will be happy here. I talked to him before he arrived and told him we have a good team. However, we need him. I believe that with him we can reach the playoffs and be a solid team.”
In a statement, Red Star made the purchase of the Argentine point guard official. Campazzo will sign a two-year contract for 1.8 million for the first season and 2.5 for the next, according to Eurohoops reports.
