Polonara and Virtus close again

Virtus Bologna is reportedly probing the ground again for Achille Polonara, after last summer’s contacts resulted in a no-go, followed later by the national team basketball player’s move to Efes.

According to reports by ‘La Repubblica’ columnist Fabrizio Lorenzi, the two sides are even very close to an understanding. Polonara, 31 years old last Nov. 23, has not yet managed to find much space in Ergin Ataman’s technical project and would not disdain a return to the Italian league (his last experience in A dates back to 2018/19, with the Dinamo Sassari’s singlet), with an eye however to the most prestigious continental tournament.

In the meantime, the Black Vu are preparing for the Euroleague trip against a former Polonara team, Baskonia. A success would keep the Felsinians in the midst of the race for a spot among the best eight after 15 games, a result in line with the club’s expectations.
