Jorge Lorenzo warns Marc Marquez: “He has to make a choice.”
Jorge Lorenzo sent a message to Honda star Marc Marquez
Jorge Lorenzo in an interview with Dazn made a reflection on Marc Marquez’s future in MotoGp, starting with the next World Championship: “When he was dominating he had no problems with his arm and he was the youngest among his rivals. Now he has an arm that is not known to be 100 percent, and he is no longer the youngest.”
And Honda still seems far behind Ducati at the moment: “Marc can still win a World Championship, but I think Ducati will have the best bike in the next four or five years.”
In 2024 his contract with Honda expires, and the future hangs in the balance: “There will come a point when Marquez will have to choose between winning the World Championship or making money, although I don’t think Honda will continue to offer him the same contract as now. Repentant about the deal until 2024? In 2019 Marc won almost every race single-handedly. Then Honda comes along and offers him a four-year deal, at 20 million a year. He clearly thinks ‘If I’m winning almost all the races with this bike and I’m dominating, plus they offer me a four-year contract and it’s double or triple that of the others, of course I’ll sign’.”
