Cagliari protest explodes: ‘Strong and sacrosanct discontent’
Cagliari is coming off a complicated weekend: the first team lost 2-0 to Modena, and the Primavera team drew 1-1 against Fronsinone. Ds Pierluigi Carta wanted to express his anger: “We are strongly embittered by what we suffered in the Primavera match. An unacceptable decision that forced us to stay in ten with half an hour to go for a yellow assigned to Masala inexplicably.”
According to Carta, the club was doubly harmed: in the Primavera for the yellow to Masala, in the first team for the expulsion of Rog: “An episode that adds up to what happened in Modena with the first team match, totally conditioned by an expulsion without foundation. I speak on behalf of the whole club expressing a strong and sacrosanct discontent and disappointment for what we saw in the space of not even twenty-four hours,” reads the website of the island club.
“We cannot passively accept to risk frustrating the daily work of all the components of the Club because of refereeing episodes not up to the mark,” the latest broadside from Pierluigi Carta.
