Bad news for Zaynab Dosso.
Following muscle discomfort felt last Saturday at the end of the 60-meter final in Lodz, the Italian record-holder will forgo competing at the Paris meeting where she was expected on Saturday evening, February 11. The Fiamme Azzurre sprinter underwent an MRI in Rome this morning at CONI’s Institute of Sports Medicine and Science.
“An injury of the hamstring of the left thigh was found,” Dosso informs, “we will have to be very cautious and proceed step by step, without risking anything. However, the hope is to be able to participate in the European Indoor Championships in Istanbul next month.”
On Tuesday, the European bronze medalist in the 4×100 and continental finalist in the 100 meters will be visited by the federal doctor, Dr. Andrea Billi, to define the recovery path. In her second outing of the season, in Poland last Saturday, Dosso equaled her Italian record with 7.14, finishing in second place with the same time as Poland’s Ewa Swoboda.
