Elena Curtoni: “I wasn’t fast, I don’t know what went wrong.”
The Women’s National Alpine Ski Team got off to a strong start at the World Championships, with two golds in two races held. However, there was no shortage of disappointments, among them that of Elena Curtoni, who expected more from her SuperG, which ended only in 15th place one second behind Marta Bassino.
“The speed wasn’t there so much, I don’t know what went wrong, that’s how it was,” were the Azzurra’s words to the microphones of Rai 2. Elena Curtoni is now aiming determinedly at Saturday’s downhill: “I have another chance in the downhill, but first I have to digest today.”
