Camila Giorgi now plans the climb.
Victory in Mexico paves the way for Camila Giorgi’s ascent.
Camila Giorgi is not stopping here: the Macerata tennis player after her victory in Merida, Mexico, her first tournament win in a year and a half, is now aiming to climb the WTA rankings.
The Azzurra has re-entered the top 50 (she is 46th) after her success in North America, but the goal now is to be seeded at Roland Garros, scheduled for late May in Paris.
Until then, Camila will not have any points to defend, because she had lost seven consecutive matches last season: the Maceratese thus has a great chance to re-enter the top 30, and also to aim to improve her best ranking, that is, the 26th position reached in 2018.
