Lewis Hamilton disappointed after first two free practice sessions in Bahrain

Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton vented his frustration after the first two free practice sessions of the Formula 1 Bahrain Grand Prix: “We are where we were last year, if not a little further behind.”

“We are simply on the wrong track. Right now we are far behind those ahead of us. Last year there was good progress, but the gap was not as big as it is now,” blurted out the seven-time world champion, who got the eighth fastest time on Friday, far from the best. The W14 seemed unstable and clearly lagging behind at least three other cars (Red Bull, Ferrari and Aston Martin).

“I am trying everything, we have to work a lot because we are one second slower than the others. I did my best on the track, but we need to change several things from the set-up point of view.”
