Marc Marquez admits difficulties at Honda but holds off on an early farewell

The start of the 2023 MotoGp World Championship is getting closer and closer, but Marc Marquez and Honda are arriving at the appointment later than other rivals such as Ducati. The Catalan champion is well aware of this, and in an interview with Motorsport he did not mince words: “In the Sepang tests I was not disappointed, because it was already foreseen that it would be so.”

“I knew there would be structural changes, it means there will be a transition time and it is perfectly expected. Right now we are not here to win. Now let’s see how we evolve in Portimao.”

The star rider from Cervera has a contract until 2024: “A move to Ducati? I’m not considering it. I am not considering a change of team, I have a two-year contract and it would be a big mistake now to think about that. We won six titles from 2013 to 2020, then I got injured and practically wasn’t on the track, even when I was there. This year it gives me more confidence that there are good riders like Rins and Mir, who will do very well and give me a hand.”
