Purple joy with Barak: Sivasspor beaten
Fiorentina-Sivasspor 1-0
Fiorentina wins the first leg of the Conference League round of 16. At the Franchi, the Viola overcame Turkey’s Sivasspor thanks to a goal by Barak, midway through the second half. The Czech midfielder was adept at pouncing on the ball after a scramble in the box and discharging it into the goal thanks to a powerful left-footed half-volley. A brawl between Dodò and Gradel flared up in the finale, costing the Brazilian full-back a caution and an expulsion for the visitors’ striker.
The Viola have recriminations for not hitting the double, however they will go into the return match, scheduled in Turkey on Thursday, March 16 at 6:45 p.m., with a one-goal lead.
