Catanzaro wins the C round of the third series

Catanzaro is celebrating five days ahead of the end of the Serie C championship: beating Gelbison 2-0 away, the Giallorossi moved to +16 ahead of second-placed Crotone, thus certifying arithmetic promotion to Serie B.

Deciding the challenge played at the Arechi in Salerno were goals by Pietro Iemmello in the 18th minute and Enrico Brignola in the 93rd minute. A goal, the latter, that preceded by a few moments the great celebration of the fans of the Eagles of the South, who came en masse to celebrate the promotion that would have arrived in case of victory.

Catanzaro returns to the second tier for the first time since the 2005/06 season. It also has several Serie A appearances to its credit in its history between the 1970s and 1980s.
