Cycling in mourning, former pro Domenico Cavallo dies
Farewell to Domenico Cavallo
ADISPRO also mourns one of its most passionate members, 1980s professional cyclist Domenico Cavallo, who left us Wednesday following an illness. Born in the province of Cuneo in 1961, Cavallo had begun pedaling at a very young age, coming to pro cycling through local cycling clubs-with which he won the Italian junior amateur title in 1980. He signed his first pro contract in 1984 with a Spanish team, beginning a career that lasted four years before moving to the flagship team in the role of valued sports director.
“Domenico was a great friend to all of us,” explained Mario Chiesa, ADISPRO board member, “and a passionate supporter of all the association’s initiatives, never missing a meeting. He was always ready to help and never denied his support. We will definitely miss his enthusiasm and availability to everyone while his kindness and helpfulness to others will always be an inspiration to us.”
