A post by Eugenie Bouchard caused a stir on social media on the eve of the start of the WTA 1000 tournament in Rome. In a video on Instagram, the Canadian tennis player mocked one of the undressed statues at the Foro Italico: “The first thing you see when you arrive and walk through the players’ entrance…,” she wrote wryly with an emoticon of laughter.
Bouchard said she was very excited about her return to Rome: “I have been missing for so many years and so I can only be thrilled to be back among these statues.” “Happy to have you back in Rome among the statues Genie,” the tournament organizers replied to her.
