NBA, San Antonio wins lottery and books Wembanyama
For the Spurs, this is the third time in their history that they will have the No. 1 pick in the draft
On the night, at the McCormick Place Convention Center in Chicago, the lottery was staged to outline the final call-up list for the upcoming NBA Draft (June 22). Lottery won by the San Antonio Spurs who, therefore, at the next NBA Draft, will have the chance to choose first.
A great stroke of luck for the Spurs. They will, in fact, be able to choose Wembanyama, i.e., the one who is referred to as the new superstar of world basketball. The Frenchman appears to be a predestined and will go to play in San Antonio. For the Spurs, this is the third time in their history that they will have the No. 1 pick in the draft. The previous ones? Robinson (1987) and Duncan (1997). “It’s going to be incredible,” Spurs owner Holt’s comment reported by ESPN.
