Carmelo Anthony, through a video on his social profiles, officially announced his retirement from basketball, after an impressive 19 seasons, just days before his 39th birthday. “I think the time has come for me to say goodbye. All I had as a child was a ball and a dream, and basketball gave me the chance to make my wishes come true. All that remains is for me to say Thank you!” this is an excerpt of the words spoken by the 10-time All Star.
Throughout his career, the Syracuse product has worn the jerseys of Denver, Knicks, Thunder, Rockets, Trail Blazers and finally Lakers, but without ever managing to win an NBA ring. Conversely, he can boast of three Gold Medals with Team USA ( 2008, 2012, 2016).
On a personal level, Carmelo Anthony ends his career with an impressive 28,289 points scored (ninth best scorer all time) and introduction among the 75 best players of any NBA era.
