Inter says goodbye to the championship by beating Torino: Brozovic decides
All it takes is one goal to end the championship with a win.
Inter ran and won again in the last match of the season in Serie A, a prelude to the highly anticipated Champions League final against Manchester City. The Nerazzurri won 1-0 on the Torino pitch, with Marcelo Brozovic authoring the team’s last goal in the league and the one that allows Simone Inzaghi’s men to close on 72 points, thanks to 23 wins, 3 draws and 12 defeats.
The first chances came from the feet of Miranchuk on one side and Lautaro Martinez on the other, then it was Ricci who startled Handanovic with the ball, however, wide. In the continuation of the first half, Torino is favored, but it is Inter who score: it is precisely Brozovic who does it in the 37th minute, receiving the ball from Lukaku and mocking from the distance the not blameless Milinkovic-Savic.
In the second half, the Granata goalkeeper redeemed himself on Calhanoglu, while Dzeko was inaccurate on Brozovic’s assist. There is also time for a good chance by Gagliardini, while in the 65th minute Inzaghi concedes a pass to Handanovic and sends on a Cordaz who a few minutes later saves the win with a feat on Sanabria. In the final minutes Dzeko chipped the post and Pellegri penetrated the box but could not find the goal, with the result not changing any more.
