Atalanta and Gian Piero Gasperini moving forward together
Gasperini will still coach Atalanta
Gian Piero Gasperini and Atalanta will renew their sporting marriage. The Grugliasco-born coach, born in 1958, and the management of the Orobico club have in fact reached an agreement in principle for the continuation of their relationship, despite the doubts that have arisen in Atalanta circles in recent weeks.
Gasperini will lead Atalanta, then, for the eighth consecutive season: next year will also mark the Nerazzurri’s return to Europe, thanks to fifth place in the standings that will allow them to play in the Europa League rounds.
Since 2016, the year of the coach’s arrival on the Orobic bench, Atalanta has won a place among the top five in Serie A five times out of seven, and disputed the Champions League three times (best result the quarterfinals reached in 2020).
