Karim Benzema is officially a player of Al Ittihad. The news of the 2022 Ballon d’Or’s landing in Saudi Arabia, which had already been anticipated in the aftermath of the Frenchman’s farewell to Real Madrid, was confirmed on Tuesday evening by the Jeddah-based club through its official channels.

Benzema, born in 1987, signed a contract until 2026. His will be his first professional experience outside Europe, after success-filled ones at Lyon and Real Madrid. The 35-year-old striker thus goes to join, in the Arab league, another great former of the Merengues, Cristiano Ronaldo, who recently announced that he wanted to stay at Al Nassr of Riyadh despite rumors of a return to Europe, to Newcastle United specifically.
