Napoli, Rafa Benitez sends a clear message

Rafa Benitez at Napoli is one of the hypotheses circulating regarding the replacement on the Azzurri bench of the departing Luciano Spalletti. The Spanish coach himself, who knows the Neapolitan club well having worked for Aurelio De Laurentiis back between 2013 and 2015, has decided to address the issue by sending a message to his former patron.

“I am ready, I am always ready. However, these are decisions that are not up to me,” Benitez told the microphones of ‘Sky Sport,’ who intercepted him in Istanbul before the Champions League final. “My desire is still to win, leading a team that does not have the goal of staying in mid-table. I would like a group capable of fighting to be protagonists.”

Regarding another possible heir to Spalletti on the Napoli bench, Vincenzo Italiano, there came an abrupt halt. “Italiano will stay here next season as well. Italiano has never told anyone that he wanted to leave, we will start from him again next season,” Rocco Commisso said in fact at a press conference.
