Anticipation is high, even in view of the possible achievement of a major goal.

Novak Djokovic frames the upcoming Roland Garros final, where he will face a Casper Ruud fresh off a big win over Alexander Zverev. And the Serb, speaking to the French press, admitted that the prospect of winning the tournament at the moment outweighs the prospect of winning the Grand Slam.

“I’m not thinking about it,” Djokovic said, “I’m now focusing on the possibility of winning again in Paris, a feeling I know. I have experienced it many times during my career and I know how to handle myself and my emotions. I want to approach the match at my best, as I will face Ruud who has already played more than one final.”

“Experience is on my side, but it is not enough to win matches. I have to recover to the maximum, because it will be a great battle. My goal was to get to Roland Garros at the top, I have already won the first Slam of the year and now I am in the final. I couldn’t ask for more, as nothing motivates me more than Grand Slam tournaments. But now I need to win,” Djokovic added.
