Italvolley, trio with the Netherlands signed Miriam Sylla
Italy-Holland 3-2
Italy drops a hat trick. After Bulgaria and the Dominican Republic, the Azzurri beat the Netherlands 3-2 (22-25; 25-22; 25-21; 18-25; 19-17) to win their third consecutive victory in Pool 3 of the ongoing Volleyball Nations League in Hong Kong.
Success of fundamental importance in terms of the overall standings for Sylla and her teammates definitely re-entered the Finals race thanks to a victory that was the result of play, character and mental strength.
“It could have maybe gone better,” admitted match MVP Myriam Sylla, “unfortunately also today we had some ups and downs and this forced us to the tiebreak. I am sorry for some attitude of nervousness we had during the fourth set that also infected my teammates. Maybe we also need to work on this to become less nervous and more courageous. Clearly, with time we will get to know each other better and we will surely solve these kinds of situations as well. In the tiebreak it was a bit like a boxing match in which we exchanged repeated blows. Then we settled the decisive one-two that allows us to bring home a very important victory. Tomorrow against China we hope for an unpredictable match since everyone is giving us up for defeat.”
