Roberto Mancini denies rumors
Roberto Mancini’s words
Roberto Mancini spoke at a press conference on the eve of the Nations League third-place final: “Rumors that I am unhappy are stories that have no head or tail. If one is the commissioner of the national team he is happy no matter what, then one can be displeased after a defeat but this I think is obvious.”
“I can say that the new path of the Azzurri has already begun. We arrived at the Nations League stage with a group of young guys, because we played the qualifiers with a team with a very low average age. Right now there are many competitions, so we had to leave some players to the Under20 and Under21 to allow them to reach their respective goals. The change I think has already been undertaken.”
“I think it has been a beautiful journey even now, there was the World Cup interlude where we were thrown out unfairly. We made it to the Nations League finals for the second time in a row, to be there is already a very good thing. Then of course, you want to win,” he concluded.
