Marco Belinelli is in negotiations for renewal with Virtus

Having closed the season one step away from the Scudetto, Marco Belinelli is already looking to the future: as he himself admitted in an interview with Eurosport’s Davide Fumagalli on the sidelines of the inauguration of a renovated playground in Milan, negotiations with the club are already underway.

“If I stay at Virtus? We are simply talking about renewal with the club, I hope there are no problems,” said the former NBA player. We will try to make sure that I can play in Virtus next year as well and that I can be important and decisive, always setting new goals.”

Belinelli, born in 1986, has just completed his third season after returning to Virtus, a club for which he had already played as a very young player, between 2001 and 2003, before his move to Fortitudo and the long and happy American adventure: to date he remains the only Italian athlete to have won the NBA title, in 2014 with the San Antonio Spurs.
