The Wimbledon tournament has also begun for our people: Lorenzo Musetti opens, later Jannik Sinner
Musetti broke the ice
The Wimbledon tournament has also begun for Italian tennis players. In chronological order, the first of ours to take the court, at 12:10 p.m. (Italian time), was Lorenzo Musetti, the No. 14 seed, who is facing Peruvian Juan Pablo Varillas, No. 60, author of a surprising Roland Garros, where he showed himself to be very insidious on clay (in Buenos Aires, in February, he knocked out the Carrara player in two sets), but all to be discovered when grappling with grass.
Jannik Sinner, world No. 8, will have the honor of making his debut on the Central. In fact, organizers have decided to place Monday’s highly anticipated match between the South Tyrolean and Argentine Juan Manuel Cerundolo, No. 110 Atp, as the third match, closing out the program. The match is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. Italian time.
