Renato Sanches, rumors from France: Roma getting closer
The new Portuguese seems to be getting closer and closer.
Renato Sanches to Roma can be done for real. This is confirmed by the authoritative French newspaper ‘L’Equipe,’ according to which the Portuguese midfielder on his way out of PSG could really move to the Giallorossi also thanks to the direct intervention of Jose Mourinho.
According to the transalpine newspaper’s reconstructions, in fact, Mourinho himself would have intensified his contacts with Renato Sanches, whom he identified as the perfect alternative to Wijnaldum in the heart of his Roma’s maneuver.
There is to be defined the eventual formula of the operation, should it actually go through. Well, according to ‘L’Equipe’ Roma’s chances of snatching a loan with right of redemption are concrete. In fact, PSG does not seem willing to raise the barricades for Renato Sanches, who in just one season in Paris has racked up 27 appearances and 2 goals while taking the field for less than 1,000 total minutes.
Already a Benfica starlet at a young age, the 2016 European champion has struggled at both Bayern Munich and PSG from which he seems destined to leave over the summer. His profile is liked by both Tiago Pinto and Roma coach José Mourinho, both his compatriots. Revitalized by his experience at Lille between 2019 and 2022, Renato Sanches seemed very close to a move to Serie A already during the summer a year ago. Already followed by Roma, it was, however, AC Milan that came close to buying him. Then, however, it was PSG that came out on top. Now, with Davide Frattesi gone, the Giallorossi are ready to finalize the last details to finally bring him to the capital.
