Pavilions 22 and 24 at Fiera Milano-Rho will host the Hockey 2 venue of the Milan Cortina Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2026.

The solution, identified after careful and in-depth comparative analyses and thanks to the teamwork between the City of Milan, the Lombardy Region, the Organizing Committee of the next Winter Games and with the collaboration of Fiera itself, perfectly meets the project requirements both from a qualitative and operational point of view. And it will make it possible to maintain territorial continuity with the other competition sites in the ice world – except for curling.

The new venue will replace the Milano Hockey Arena among Milan’s competition venues and, as defined for speed skating, its nature will be temporary: it will exist only for the duration of the competitions, confirming a sustainable and innovative formula. The presence of two venues in the Fair allows an objective containment of operating costs through the optimization of a series of services that can no longer be thought of in the perspective of two different sites, but of a single area with two competition venues.

Fondazione Milano Cortina 2026 will consolidate the fruitful collaboration, already started during the definition phase of the new solution, with the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) to better support the implementation of the project taking into account all the technical requirements.

In addition, in the coming days, upon completion of the preparatory work and in line with the project timeline, activities aimed at the construction of the Palaitalia Santa Giulia will also begin. The facility, built by private investors and with a capacity of 15,000 seats, will host the Hockey 1 venue. After the Games, the facility will be used as a multipurpose area, becoming an important legacy element.
