Falcao freezes Roma, Marcos Leonardo at risk: plan B triggered
Roma, Marcos Leonardo operation is in danger of blowing up
Roma could see Marcos Leonardo, the attacking reinforcement who now seemed only to have to put his signature on the contract, slip through their hands. On Thursday evening, in fact, a former Giallorossi heartthrob himself, Paulo Roberto Falcao (current coordinator of the Santos sporting area) announced a major obstacle in the negotiation, which is now in danger of surprisingly foundering.
“Marcos Leonardo is a clear target of Roma, which has already spoken with the president,” Falcao said during a press conference held by the club. “I did not interfere, I never do: I only spoke with the president, who told me that Roma’s offer was low, as well as the conditions with which Roma itself wanted to pursue the negotiation.
Should Marcos Leonardo’s move to Roma definitively blow up, the Giallorossi club would once again find itself in an emergency situation in attack: for this reason, the club, according to reports from ‘Sportmediaset,’ has begun sounding out the availability of Alexis Sanchez, who is currently unemployed.
In the meantime, the Giallorossi are preparing for Sunday’s August 6 friendly in Toulouse against the local team that won the last French Cup. Next August 20, however, will be the first official match, the opening day of Serie A in which Jose Mourinho’s team will face Salernitana at home.
