Paola Egonu, slight indisposition

Fear for Paola Egonu.

According to volleyball.it reports, shortly after the end of the opening match of the 2023 European Women’s Volleyball Championships, won 3-0 by Italy against Romania in front of 10,000 people at the Arena in Verona, the opposite player from Cittadella experienced a slight indisposition, possibly due to the great heat.

The new Vero Volley Milan player, who took over for a few points in the match in place of newcomer Ekaterina Antropova, has since recovered, refusing hospitalization and returning regularly with her teammates to the hotel, ahead of today’s transfer to Monza, where then between Friday and Saturday the next two challenges will be played.

Coach Davide Mazzanti on Tuesday night had spoken thus, “It was not an easy match. However, there were many positive points. We lacked some consistency because some times in our plays in such an Arena were not easy. During the game we were not good at adapting from that point of view. Still, it was a night to remember. I was already excited before I got to the Arena. Tonight we played a little slow volleyball compared to the practice we had this morning. We couldn’t find the right understandings and that made us slow down our game. This week has been very hard because my aunt who was supposed to be here passed away. Today there was the whole family present in the stands, and when I said goodbye to them at first I gave in. Actually even now that I said goodbye to them. It was emotion upon emotion. We hold on to the emotions of this evening and the fantastic crowd that supported us throughout the entire match.”
