Drunk with joy, Gianmarco Tamberi è obviously a river in flood after his masterpiece in Budapest, yet another in his stellar career. "When I entered the stadium, I saw how many Italians there were, how charged they were, and I said to myself, ‘è your night’… I knew I was okay, even though I made a horrible qualification on Sunday, but I filed it all away and tried what I say in my captain’s speeches to the Azzurri: believe that everything è is possible and dream big, in the end è success" he said.

"My dadà Marco taught me to jump, what I did here è also thanks to the path conducted together with him – added the champion -. It è was not easy to separate from him, to digest such a change, we haven’t spoken for so long but è also thanks to what he taught me".

" I know the opponents, I knew it could take moreù than 2.38 to win. I tried to be myself on the platform, to stay focused, and at 2.36 I realized it was a possible match point. It’s good to know that I inspire young people, push them to approach the athletic fields: è beautiful, they are the ones who give us the strength" concluded Tamberi.
