Romelu Lukaku in Rome

Romelu Lukaku è landed in Rome.

The former Inter Milan striker, who after being one step away from Juventus è agreed with the Giallorossi, è landed at Ciampino airport shortly before 6 p.m.

The Capitoline airport è was literally taken by storm by Roma fans: we speak of nearly 5,000 people who, after having followed from a distance the plane piloted directly by the president Friedkin, witnessed the first steps of the Belgian giant back in Italy.

Lukaku after medical examinations will sign a one-year €7.5 million contract. Roma and Chelsea reached an agreement on the basis of a one-year interest-bearing loan until June 30, 2024 at 5.8 million euros.

There were three crucial factors for the success of the deal: the positive relations between the two companies, both of which are American-owned; the presence of the entire management team, including the Giallorossi president and vice-president; and Lukaku’s willingness to reduce his salary, considering that he was earning €11.3 million at Chelsea.

Mourinho's goal è to have Lukaku available for Friday’s game against AC Milan, although the player hasn’t trained in more than a month and may not be at top form. In any case, Roma è ready to welcome this acquisition, which only a week ago seemed just an unfeasible idea, but which now could completely revolutionize Mourinho’s team and create a lethal attacking pair with Dybala.
