A historic new pole position, but the Reds are there.

Max Verstappen on pole position again at the Miami Grand Prix and even more so in Formula 1 history. The Ferraris, però are in good form and take second and third positions. They will start in Sunday’s race behind Red Bull’s world champion, for the sixth time since the start of the season ahead of everyone after qualifying (in as many race weekends). And it is a new record for him, shared with only Ayrton Senna, Nigel Mansell and Alain Prost.

The Dutchman stopped the chronometers on a time of 1:27.741, narrowing the gap by just 141 thousandths to a Leclerc definitely at ease on the Miami circuit all day Saturday after a Friday to forget. Also not far behind is the second Ferrari, that of a Sainz third at +0.214 from Verstappen and also able to put Sergio Perez on the second Red Bull behind him. They are followed by the two McLarens of Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri and the two Mercedes of George Russell and Lewis Hamilton in a ranking that seems to reflect the current balance of Formula 1.

Noteworthy, in addition to the very small gap with Ferrari, are the complaints about low grip that Verstappen complained to his team and that marked his entire Saturday in Miami. It will remain to be seen if, after the good feelings of the Sprint Race, Leclerc can succeed in an assault on his leadership in the longer Grand Prix scheduled for Sunday.

Verstappen è in fact won the Sprint Race just ahead of Leclerc, failing, however; to seed him as per recent habits. Ferrari è lacked only a small stroke of the kidneys to try to hit a victory that at this point could be a concrete goal for the Cavallino Sunday.
