Italian volleyball makes it four out of four: also beat Switzerland
Italy is increasingly leading in Group A of the European Championships 2023. The Azzurri, in fact, beat Switzerland as well with a dry 3-0 (25-19, 25-23, 25-15), centering the fourth victory in as many matches.
In the first set they proceeded point to point until 12-12: here the Azzurri placed a stretch (18-12) that would prove decisive in winning the first partial. In the second set, the Swiss tried to scare Fefé De Giorgi’s boys, recovering up to 24-23 but a Migge service error condemned the Swiss to a two-set disadvantage. The third set è a formality; with Italy immediately taking off and controlling until the final 25-15.
Yuri Romanò è the best scorer of the night with 15 points, but Daniele Lavia's 13 points and Alessandro Michieletto's 12 were also noteworthy. Italvolley will be back on court Wednesday at 9:15 p.m. against Germany in the decisive match for the top spot in the group.
