Goodbye to Giovanni Pirola
Giovanni Pirola, a former midfielder who also played in the top league, passed away. He had turned 77 in February.
Born in Vimercate, Brianza, he had grown up footballing in his hometown’s arancioneri: from Vimercatese he had moved in 1964 to Bolzano and two years later to Como. Between 1968 and 1970 è he was at Reggina and then è landed at Atalanta, also playing in A with the Nerazzurri orobici. Pescara, Modena, Parma and Pergocrema the next stages of his career.
Funeral on Saturday at the shrine of the Blessed Virgin in Vimercate.
