In her first career semifinal on concrete, she lost 6-4 6-2 to Katerina Siniakova, who will playà her 10th WTA final.
Siniakova will face Canadian Leylah Fernandez, who defeated Anna Blinkova 6-2 7-5 and reached her fifth career final, her first since winning her second title in Monterrey in March 2022. A few months later, in the quarterfinals of Roland Garros, she suffered a foot injury that hampered her ascent.
In total, Fernandez, who avenged a loss on the grass against Blinkova, will play in her fifth career final. She won the title twice in Monterrey, in 2021 and 2022. She lost the other two, in Acapulco in 2020 and at the US Open in 2021.
