Neven Spahija identifies key to beating Varese

Neven Spahija, to the official channels of Reyer Venezia, presented Sunday afternoon’s challenge between the orogranata and Varese Basketball. Set to kick off at 6:15 p.m. on Oct. 29, it will be played at the home of the Laggunarians, at Palasport Giuseppe Taliercio.

"We have had a few extra days to prepare for this game,” Spahija said, “and for us è it is key to have the team training together and well. When you have the full group at your disposal you can see where there are things to improve and where to continue working to do well".

"We saw the video of the game with Joventut,” he added, “where we did many things well, especially in the last quarter where we found the right chemistry. Even in the first three fractions we were positive, missing forò many open shots that gave a negative impression of the game. We were good, especially on defense".

" Sunday we play against Varese, a team that runs a lot and by its own philosophy takes a lot of shots from three. At this early stage of the season we have conceded few shots from three, so it will be interesting to see who will win the challenge between offense and defense" then concluded the Croatian coach, confirming that he wants to focus strongly on the defensive set-up to neutralize an offense that relies heavily on conclusions from outside.
