Coppa Italia: Bologna knocks out Verona and earns the Inter
One goal per time to deserve the round of 16.
Bologna ahead in the Coppa Italia, after the 2-0 collected at the Stadio Dall'Ara against Verona. For Thiago Motta, a challenge against his past now lies ahead: in the round of 16 there will in fact be Inter.
Starting off the guests are better, with Lazovic twice dangerous. Then the pace slows down, and only around the half-hour mark comes Bologna’s first chance with a Fabbian header. The end of the half, however, was throbbing: Lazovic again made himself dangerous, Verona also hit a post with Cruz and eventually went under. In fact, at 41' the Rossoblù score, thanks to Moro who takes advantage of a lightness of Coppola and beats Perilli.
Resumption in turn without too many squalls, and with Verona appearing more proactive than the hosts. Bologna understands the moment, tries to put the game to sleep and after a phase of insistent ball possession doubles: it happens at 63', when Van Hooijdonk è very quick to collect the ball rejected by Perilli on Ndoye’s shot and to put the passage of the round in the safe for the Emilians. Gialloblù also in ten men from 73' for the expulsion of Serdar.
