Federica Brignone and Sofia Goggia prepare for Speed Opening in Zermatt-Cervinia

Three of the four members of the Elite group of the women’s Italian team, namely; Federica Brignone, Elena Curtoni and Sofia Goggia (absent is Marta Bassino, who is training in Sweden with the giant racers), will prepare from today to Friday in the South Tyrolean resort of Solda for the two cross-border downhill races of the Speed Opening in Zermatt-Cervinia, scheduled for Saturday, November 18 and Sunday, November 19 and preceded by three days of time trials.

Joining Brignone, Curtoni and Goggia will be the multi-purpose group girls Nadia Delago, Nicol Delago, Roberta Melesi, Karolie Pichler and Laura Pirovano, who will also participate in the opening two downhill runs of the Women’s World Cup, the holding of which è was confirmed yesterday by the FIS after the snow control carried out on the Gran Becca slope, which next weekend will host instead the men’s speed season opener, again with two downhill runs and three days of time trials.
