Rudi Garcia at risk, Napoli chooses silence
No post-match interviews for Napoli members
The home defeat accrued in the finale against Empoli, which came just days after the disappointing 1-1 draw against Union Berlin in the Champions League, is back to shake Rudi Garcia’s bench, which only seven days ago seemed no longer at risk after the convincing success in the derby at Salerno.
There was a lot of curiosity about what the Frenchman would say, but the Neapolitan club chose another way, that of press silence: therefore, neither Garcia nor other Napoli members were able to speak to radio and TV microphones, nor were they able to take part in the post-match press conference.
Garcia had already seemed to be at risk at the beginning of October, after the double knockout against Real Madrid and Fiorentina: since then, however, there had come the away successes against Hellas Verona and Union Berlin, the comeback draw against AC Milan and the victory in Salerno, which had calmed the environment. The last two results, however, have again burdened the mood among the reigning Italian champions.
Napoli's next match is scheduled after the break, Saturday, Nov. 25 against Atalanta. Only in the coming days it will be understood whether the French coach will still lead the team or if the club will prefer to rely on another technical guide.
