Carlos Sainz out of the teeth on the penalty;

Friday’s free practice session of the Las Vegas GP è ended bittersweetly for Carlos Sainz. The Ferrari driver, in fact, è was the protagonist of a second place in FP2, while in FP1 è he was the subject of an unfortunate accident by crashing into a manhole cover. In addition, the damage caused forced the Maranello team to make changes not allowed by the rules, which led the FIA to assign a penalty of 10 grid positions to the Spanish driver. On the penalty the number 55 has è expressed himself bluntly to the microphones of the Spanish newspaper "As".

"It&#39s been a very hard day. I had a bad blow to my back and neck in the accident that everyone saw. The manhole cover that è came off destroyed the car, the chassis, the engine, the battery and even the seat. The team did a huge job getting the car ready for FP2, they did a heroic job. We managed to make it, we made up time and stayed focused" began the Spanish driver.

"This weekend we are relatively competitive becauseé the circuit suits us better and we warmed up the tires well for a lap. I was optimistic, but as soon as the session was over I was told I had a ten-place penalty for something that had nothing to do with it. You can imagine how disappointed I am, you will not see me very happy this weekend" continued the Ferrarista.

"There will be opportunities, but now I am so disappointed by what è happened that I don’t want to talk too much about the future. This è an example of how the sport can è improve. The FIA could have considered a force majeure, so that we would not have the penalty, but there are always people who want to make an individual’s situation worse and I have to pay for that" Carlos Sainz&quoted.
